What is a feeling?

More specifically, how do we personify something abstract and intangible without the use of representational iconography or universally relatable visual motifs? Furthermore, can the limitation of those visual motifs restrict access to something that is shared by each and every one of us? Feeling emotion is part of the human condition. It's a shared experience, even though all of us share that experience through individualistic lenses.

Instead of choosing subjects in specified environments to express and convey particular stories, ideas, or concepts, these works are designed to shine a light directly on what creates those subject matters. Each painting is a portrait of a feeling in-and-of itself. Their subjects are idealized and abstracted to loosen the reigns o0n what they are supposed to represent and encourage individual subjective interpretation.

The marks, sprays, scribbles, and shapes collide and dissolve into each other in a way similar to the coming ad going of thought. Minimal forethought or planning goes into the physical production. The objective in producing something as fleeting and fickle as a feeling is to attack without remorse. Each stroke and addition exist in the same vein as the passing moment of its creation. the juxtaposition of techniques and materials serve as a reminder of how varied feeling can be.the reactive, fast-paced nature of the marks made are directly influenced by the repetitive cycles of life, the harsh weight of change, and the inviting vibrance of love, compassion and new experience. All of these things are share through the human condition. Everyone's interpretation in valid.
